Why we use glass instead of plastic.

 We chose to use glass bottles instead of plastic because of the growing concern over the safety of plastic bottles. We use a hot fill process to fill our glass bottles. The hot fill process heats the liquid (juice) to a temperature of between 182 degrees F and 192 degrees F for at least 3 minutes. The hot liquid is then poured into the bottles. The high temperature of the liquid sterilizes the bottle as it is being poured in. The bottle is then sealed and it is cooled. One of the main concerns of hot filling plastic bottles is that the chemicals in the plastic bottle may ‘leach’ into the liquid because of the high temperatures. 

We know that there are some plastic bottles that are safer than others but we would rather err on the side of safety and use glass bottles.
